Five Weeks

Not much new to report this week. Things have been stable, and no doctor visit since last week. I'm keeping up the two-miles-a-day pace, but I still get winded rather easily.

I also think I'm seeing some effect of the tapering off of my prednisone dose, which was expected. I'm not quite as chipper as I was a couple of weeks ago. I've gone from 80 mg/day while in the hospital to 10 mg/day currently. In two weeks I'll drop to 5 mg/day, which will be my lifetime maintenance dose.

I finished the nystatin suspension last Saturday. It wasn't terrible, but I had to take it four times a day, and I couldn't eat or drink anything afterwards. Nice to have that out of the way.

My six-week checkup is this Friday. I'm eager to see what changes will come at that point, such as in the restrictions I have currently. Then next Tuesday the stents that were used to reinforce the grafts where the new kidney was attached will be removed.

Everything seems to be right on schedule, and that's good.
