Round Four

Round three went smoothly with minimal side effects. I was doing well over the Thanksgiving holiday, so I got to enjoy several wonderful days with everyone here.

Round four followed a week ago, and so far, so good. I'm having a lot of swelling from the additional steroids after the infusion (which makes me short of breath and blurs my vision), and then the inevitable crash in my energy when I stop the steroids several days later. There's also the bone pain in my lower legs from the marrow stimulant shot, but all in all, the side effects are fairly minimal and much less than what they could be.

My compression sock arsenal has increased thanks to a couple of fun donations. I call these the chemo bomb socks, depicting what these treatments are doing to those cancer cells.

We hit a milestone on Saturday when I was able to make a day trip to St. Louis to see the girls and forage for goodies at Trader Joe's. The weather was good, the trip went smoothly, and we had a great time together. So much to be continually thankful for!
