When originally thinking about today marking seven weeks post-transplant, I didn't think there would be much to say other than things continue to proceed on schedule and quite well. For the most part, that's true, but there were a couple of developments.
First, I went to the dentist for a regularly scheduled cleaning and check-up. Normally it is a long, arduous process for me. No matter what I do between visits, my teeth end up with lots of tartar. Until today, that is. This time, when my hygienist stopped, I thought she was getting ready to get into the worst part. Instead, she said she was done, and she was as surprised as me. While it's just one instance, and neither of us know for sure, it sure seems that it may be another instance of the changes brought on by having a fully functioning kidney.
Second, I went in to the office for the first time today. I've been doing some work from home for a while, but today I had enough energy to try actually being in the office. I kept it to about two hours, and overall it went well. It didn't wipe me out, so I plan to try again tomorrow and the rest of the week if all goes well.
So there's that. But back to the opening comment, there is always something to say. Which is - what a gift!
