Today marked thirteen weeks. All remains well with the new kidney, for which I am deeply grateful. Particularly at the moment, because there have been some scares.
As I noted last week, I had an apparent liver cyst which took us to the emergency room. That occurred while I was still under treatment for the urinary tract infection. The liver cyst had mostly faded by last Wednesday night, but then over the course of that night I developed a cyst on one of my diseased kidneys. These are the cysts I have had every few months for some years. The next three days were mostly pain and exhaustion.
I started to feel better on Sunday afternoon, which was nice because I got to enjoy most of Father's Day. But the pain wasn't completely gone. Yesterday was a day of exhaustion and dull pain.
Still pain today, but I was able to get my labs done and spend three hours in the office for the first time in three weeks. My labs remain great for kidney function, but further tests are being done to see if I still have the infection. Whether I do or not, hopefully I'm on the rebound now.
