It was actually on Wednesday (four days ago), but circumstances have delayed posting an update. So now, the highlights: the kidney continues to thrive, and it appears that I'm finally beginning to move past my recent health issues.
Labs continue to show great kidney function. I'm at the point that they are beginning the process of ratcheting down some of my meds toward their eventual maintenance levels. In sheer number of capsules, tablets, and pills, I'm taking about a third as many as I was coming out of the hospital.
As of a day ago, the kidney cyst and it's accompanying pain and discomfort are gone. The new antibiotic seems to be working on the infection, as my temp is nearing normal range for the first time in about three weeks. I've felt better this weekend, the first time in a month that has been true for more than one day at a time. I've been up and around, even getting some tractor time, which is more relaxing for me than it is work. I still wear out fairly quickly, and I've got some tightness in my lower back from sitting so much.
In the meantime, the rain just keeps on coming. One of these days I'm going to have some serious mowing to do, as some areas of the yard haven't been mowed for about two weeks because they are so soggy. We had some sun yesterday, but a deluge today left us with new water features:
All in all, things are looking better than they have for a while. I should be able to start easing back into spending time in the office, and I'm looking forward to being able to go to my first game of the year on Sunday with my family.
