Four Months

Tomorrow is two weeks since the urological surgery. The doctor checked things out today and said everything is on schedule and doing well. It will take about three months to heal completely and determine whether any further action needs to be taken.

Tomorrow is also four months since the actual transplant surgery. I continue to get lab work done every week, and the new kidney keeps functioning like a champ.

With the issues over the last couple of months, I've still got a long way to go in recovering energy, strength, and endurance. That will come with time, although I often try to push it (sometimes too much). I also have some minor reoccurring irritants that are just that, but at least they aren't serious or threats to the kidney.

Bottom line remains the same: what a gift!
