Eighteen months since the transplant, six months since the nephrectomy, and all is well with me. Feeling great, no lingering or collateral problems, and people continue to tell me how good I look. [I must have looked rather poorly beforehand. ;) Well, I certainly did feel poorly.]
Nancy and I just celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary with a two-week idyll in Tuscany (something we've long desired to do but wouldn't have attempted before this was all resolved). We rented a lovely apartment in the historic center of Sinalunga, relaxing and enjoying being a small part of life there. We also took a handful of day trips, wandering around the countryside and visiting Cortona, Siena, Montepulciano, Monticchiello, and Pienza in particular. The weather was good throughout our stay, we made some delightful friends, and of course, the scenery and the sights were beautiful. In every way it was a truly wonderful blessing.
