According to the schedule, this should be a post about round six of chemo. However, the course of my treatment has taken another detour. With Dr. Agamah headed to the mission hospital in Ghana and my propensity for complications during treatment, we agreed to postpone my next and hopefully final treatment until he returns.
In the meantime, it appeared I might have an infection at the site of my subclavian PICC line, which itself would have delayed treatment. The blood cultures have been negative, and the course of oral antibiotics seems to have cleared up any local infection there may have been.
My lab results continue to be encouraging. I still tire very easily, so I get the luxury of a nap or two during the day. I've been blessed not to have had to deal with more serious side effects, except for maybe this:
