Tribute

I realized around the first of the year that I've now been retired for four years. A lot has happened over that span, although it still surprised me to realize it had been that long. It also prompted me to reflect a bit - specifically, about the people who were part of my career.

At nearly the same time I learned that a long-time co-worker had succumbed unexpectedly to cancer, someone Nancy and I had seen and chatted with recently at the treatment center. Among other things, that sent me back to thinking about the people I had worked with.

I had the privilege of working with an outstanding team - good people, intelligent, skilled, committed people who worked together to overcome hurdles and provide first-class solutions and service. We accomplished a lot, none of which could have happened without you. I'm proud of what we did, but I'm most honored to have worked alongside you. While I'm not able to hang out with you these days, you're never far from my thoughts. My deep thanks to all of you - you were a gift.
