In many ways I now have another birthdate. The gift of the kidney is a major change for me. Symptoms I had previously are gone. Everyone who sees me says I look better than I did before surgery, and it hasn't even been two weeks yet. Some of it may prove to be the meds I'm on, but much of it is because I am now so much healthier than I was. My body was saturated with poison before, but the new kidney is filtering that out now. I look forward to just how much I have changed as I continue to heal and adjust. All of this came about because of an actual event that occurred on March 24, 2015.
Today, around the world, recipients of the gift of life given by Jesus remember and celebrate a far more significant historical event - Jesus rising from death. In that act, he brought life to anyone and everyone who does no more than accepts his gift. That life is not better health or better living conditions or peace or justice. That life is becoming fully who we were created to be, living in community with our Creator and Father forever, with no fear, no sadness, no pain, no suffering. Life fully realized that never ends.
Now that's a new birthdate.
