The staples were removed from my incisions today, and everything there is healing well. My followup with the surgeon has been shifted to tomorrow afternoon from Friday due to scheduling.
We learned from the nurse that the procedure I had (removing both kidneys at the same time) is rather rare. I'm only the second case she has seen in the five years she has worked for this surgeon, who has done hundreds of nephrectomies in that time.
Meanwhile, it's opening day in STL. The sun is out, the weather is starting to warm up, the Cardinals are winning.... Yay, Spring!
